One of the more well known, and highly anticipated designers that will be showing their collection during Africa Fashion Week New York this July is Korto Momolu. She caught the eyes and captured the hearts of many on the fifth season of Project Runway, and has since been a force to reckon with. Originally from Libya, Momolu moved to Canada and began studying fashion design at L'Academies des Couturiers Design Institute in Ottawa, Ontario then furthered her education at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City. Korto's designs have always embraced color and diversity, infusing rich fabrics and tribal designs that pay homage to her African roots. We are all excited to see what she will give to the world of fashion when she showcases her talents Thursday, July 14, 2011 at AFWNY.
