Luxury has always been associated with scarcity. So many people want it, but only the elite few can afford it, and even fewer can actually have it. At one time certain types of fish, meat, or spices were considered to be luxury. Today it is the finest jewels, richest fabric, and fastest cars. With the worldwide sales of luxury goods growing and expected to continue its growth that leaves us with the question what will be the luxury of th future? Someone will have to come up with something even more rare and outrageous to wear as a hat since the lowly masses keep catching up and getting their hands on things once considere to be a fine delicacy. Will it one day be so ridiculous that people will be walking around in boots made from the skins of life forms from strange planets? I sure hope not, but with some people always trying to one-up everyone else we will just have to sit around and see what they come up with next.
