Is this a sign of the bettering American economy? A trend of dramatic intricacies on subtly wearable designs reigned over Fashion Expose- Modela Al Parc’s Jewelry & Accessory and Couture & Evening Wear shows. The industry’s recent return to classic silhouettes and simple pieces was referenced throughout the night; however, the realist fantasy which ran through many of the outfits in both the ready to wear and couture shows was a welcome reprise from this turn.

Saturday night’s event opened with a bevy of exotic crystallized and beaded pieces. Each dreamy item carried the weight of a substantial and certainly wearable piece; yet, they all exuded the delicacy and fancy of a fairy tale. Indeed, Korto Momolu’s (of Project Runway fame) collection of jewelry and accessories rounded out this portion of the show and gave a spirited kick to the second half among thunderous applause.

Opening his couture showing with a shirtless male model holding a fan which declared “I Love Ty Scott”, the designs of New York’s Ty Scott were anything but dull! His clever use of elaborate fabrics mixed with Asiatic cuts made his many designs both seemingly comfortable and unique.

The work of Boston’s Prajje Couture’s neo classic collection reworded archetypal structured femme styles into a beautifully modern anthology. From seductively simple suits and cocktail dresses to operatic gowns, the sheer stylistic diversity of this collection was enough to suite many shapes and sizes.
